Interesting subjects - needed more time to discuss SynApp2.

Fusion IO talk was pretty interesting, gave a good overview of SSD devices market. Their solution might open some interesting possibilities for high performance servers. The SynApp2 talk was a bit too scripted, however the after party live demo was pretty interesting. I think we should have started from that demo instead. I think it is not properly positioned as a "Framework" -- it is in fact the app generation tool, which can quickly produce a pretty usable management interface to you application database. Probably one of the best CRUD/scaffolding generation tool I've seen lately. definitely worth playing with.

The MySQL Roadmap was informative and basically reassuring. The lecture was excellent

I am new to these particular meetups but it was a very friendly and seemingly knowledgeable and experienced group. That atmosphere makes for a very productive environment. I wasn't able to make the first topic the SQL Antipatterns presentation by Bill was excellent. My current schedule and work location has made it difficult to make these meeting but I'm hoping that I can attend more of these! Thanks guys!

Good update on what Oracle is doing with MySQL. Very interesting presentation on anit-patterns in SQL.

In the roadmap talk, the circumspection-to-information ratio was quite high; I think roadmap info could have taken five minutes, leaving the rest for details of the 5.2 workbench, which seems promising. The hierarchical modelling in tables talk from the SQL antipatterns book was informative, concise, and obviously appreciated by the audience. The "publisher discount" on the book brought it down to just a few dollars above the Amazon price. So, one wonders.

Got me thinking about a lot of things. Reminds me that the people I work with specialize in thinking about project estimation and management. www.galorath.com www.galorath.com/wp (my boss's blog)

I though it was great. It's not relevant to what I currently do but I would sit through it again; I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The core aspects of agile development, well understood and well presented. I definitely will be getting one of Mary Poppendieck's books after hearing Christophe's recommendation. The story of the coffee machine was a classic example of how to address the cost of delay. I enjoyed this talk a lot, even though there was not a line of PHP in it.

Very interesting meetup, was a great reminder to not forget common sense when reading those books... can become quite confusing. Also, gave me a great sense of what is probably ahead of us in the company where I am working at. :)

The directory iterator is indeed cool. And it was good to have a full-on runthrough of git, from 'git init' to 'deploy it'. Very key when the deployment to staging runs through the repository (if I got that right). Would like to hear more talks like this one. Many thanks to both presenters.

Had to watch on ustream. The A/V feed was pretty bad due to ustreams issues but what I was able to watch/listen was spectacular! Perhaps a closeup of the slideshow would be nice or have the slideshow on a site that we can follow along with the presenter.

This was a very informative lecture about the new Lithium framework. Meetings are getting much better.

I was really impressed with the new Lithium framework. It looks pretty sleek and will start to play around with it for app development.

I think the meeting was good. Given the large amount of information that the presenter covered, I think there should have been a 10 minute break in the middle.

Gwoo did a fantastic job with this presentation. It was a great and thoughtful insight in the new features available to developers in PHP 5.3 and some good examples how those new features are leveraged to the max within the Lithium Framework.
