Introduction to Factual API

Factual HQs (map)

Selected By: Oleg Baranovsky

This will be a joint meetup with our sister Los Angeles Semantic Web meetup group introducing the new platform for sharing structured data, developed by Factual.

Bill Michels, the VP of Developer Platform at Factual, and his team of engineers will give an overview of Factual API, as well as their soon to be releases Javascript widget API. Plenty of Factual engineers will be there to answer your questions - don't be shy.

The space is limited, so hurry up! Read the blog post with more details here http://blog.factual.c...

Factual allows web developers share and mash open data on any subject. For example, you might find a directory of California restaurants, a database of endocrinologists, or a list of American Idol finalists. It provides smart tools to help the community build and maintain a trusted source of structured data. And this data can be used through widgets and APIs to help application developers and content publishers be more innovative and productive.

Details:
- We'll be providing the necessary pizza, refreshments, and general goodness.
- We'll make sure wifi is working and there are adapters aplenty.
- Entrance is on Sepulveda Blvd from the building lobby. We'll be in the conference room on the second floor. Someone at the front desk can point you in the right direction.
- Parking will be on the street, but there should be good options on Sepulveda, Pontius and Massachusetts.

About Factual:
Factual was founded to provide open access to better structured data. Open data will empower developers to build more innovative apps, publishers to access more high-quality content, and people everywhere to make better decisions. We're an energetic team team of former Googlers, Yahoos, LinkedIn's and more, excited about opening up access to all sorts of structured data and powering a wave of innovation.
