LAPHP Hands-on Workshop: Facebook API & PHP

This location is shown only to members

This is a hands-on workshop where you will bring your own laptops and dev environments for PHP. We will gather in a conf room and divide into small teams. Each team will have 1 hour to explore Facebook API and how to integrate it to any system they want within the realms of PHP. At the end of the hour, we will go through the solutions or snippets of codes that we came up with and share what we have done and discovered.

This meetup is limited to 20 developers MAX. We will charge $10 which will cover parking, food, facilities, etc. Please bring your laptops we will have WIFI internet available and plenty of power supply outlets for you to work with. We will gather at the conference room of the Equitable Building in Korea Town. Please arrive to the parking lot after 6pm otherwise, the parking rates changes and we will have an issue with the prepaid parking.

The purpose of this meetup is to explore and learn together. For this meetup we have chosen the hottest programming topics around for web developers out there today: Facebook integrations with other systems. If you have prior experience with such development: bring it on! We will love to hear from you and learn from you.

About this Hands-on Workshop Series:

We will setup a monthly hands-on workshop that is limited to smaller groups of developers who are interested in meeting and CODING! We may have small competitions or games but in general the purpose is to explore, learn, code, share, and most importantly: Have Fun!

Main contact for this meetup is Ron Peled, he is available at [masked].

Who Should Attend

This workshop series would be all about hands on experience and therefore some basic familiarity with PHP is required. But please don't be intimidated to attend even if you are beginner PHP developer. These sessions would be guided (i.e. we will have several experienced developers helping you and available for questions) and also it will be a teamwork, so you can learn from your team members as well.

Since this is a new and experimental track, few glitches are possible, however we will try to make this a great event useful for everyone. Since we will have a limited group, it would be easier for us to address individual questions as well.

Parking:

The parking entrance is off the Mariposa street. Please park under the building and bring your parking ticket with you. We will validate it for you.

Note: please note that because we have to pay for the parking and food in advance no refunds will be given for no show.

Great collaborative work, fantastic hands-on experience! I believe everyone learned something new tonight. Definitely will do more of these sessions. We'll have another one on WordPress in January.

I'm a bit biased, but I actually learned a ton in this meetup thanks to the talented PHP developers who showed up! We pretty much all got our hands dirty and were able to create our new facebook apps by the end of the night.
