This will be a joint session between LAMPSig and LAPHP groups.
Intro to OpenTok: The New Video API for Developers and Designers
Communication is evolving. As video technology becomes cheaper and easier to use, it will become a central medium through which we communicate. In five years, two-way video will be ubiquitous across the web. You'll use video to consult with your doctor, to learn a language from a tutor in another country, or to get customer support from Amazon. TokBox built OpenTok, an API for live video, to enable developers to create a new wave of applications that use live video in creative and meaningful ways.
We will have Jon Mumm coming here from Bay Area to give this talk to our groups. In this presentation, Jon will talk about what is wrong with video chat today, how it is evolving, and what TokBox is doing to help developers use video chat in purposeful and meaningful ways. He'll also do a live demo to show developers how to build a simple video chat applications.

It looks like streets 2 blocks around here are no parking until 7pm. But there is a good parking place at Hill st right after 8th - there is a $3 flat rate parking lot.
