Dr. Anita Sengupta—A Space Professional—delivered a fascinating lecture while addressing dozens of questions from an engaged audience of self-admitted Space Nerds, without skipping a beat. My imagination has been filled with visions of amateur rocket science ever since. Inspiring stuff. My thanks to Dr. Sengupta, Oleg Baranovsky, LAphp, LAWebSpeed, LAMySQL, LASemWeb, CyberCoders, CoLoft, and the rest of the organizers for making it happen. "To infinity... and beyond!"

One of the top 3 best tech meetup sessions I've been to. Excellent advice by a diverse variety of industry vets. Tons of insights on what it takes to be a great developer and how to grow as a professional. If you're a developer and haven't been attending these, it'll be more than worth your time to show up in the future.

The talk was very interesting and it was great to hear everyone's opinions and their backgrounds on how they view "Senior Developers". It was a great topic.

Great discussion from many angles - I thought the pannel did an excellent job keeping the conversation on topic while expressing their own philosophy. Thanks for the enlightenment - See you all the next MeetUp!

Akiban is doing something very interesting. I wish they were around 3+ years ago when I had to come up with my own denormalization strategy. I really enjoyed this meetup.

Great talk. We were so into it, we were googling alternative mysql db engines afterwords.

Super level of technology, serious product he's workin on, and a great presenter. Theory/concepts of normalization issues was given as intro; The spec and details of their optimized database engine was a nice followup issue.

Although it wasn't exactly what I expected, the meetup was excellent. I got the impression that the discussion was going to be about the structure of php templates, and what current best practices are being used. I really wanted to get a peak at that type of stuff, being from LAPHP meetup group, but what was demonstrated was almost better than what I was expecting. It showed me the tools that can be used to put feature full wordpress development on a fast track. If I do get the Genisis or Woo theme, then I can just look @ the code and see how it's done.

I was thinking it would be more advanced (as per description), but it's not like it hurt. Daryl, the speaker on Genesis / child-themes was helpful. (Is it 'Daryl'? Hope I got that right.) Oh, and free stickers, how awesome is that.

That was very useful. I will be attending Innovate 2011 in SF next week because of the good info I got at this meetup. Thanks for organizing!
