Awesome event, Great idea! Very important topic that we as developers often overlook. The fact that we discuss this is a real eye opening and would lead to a lot of improvements in the field, I'm certain of that.

Great Meetup. I felt it started a bit late (the presentation didn't really begin until about 7:45!) and we went on until 9pm which wasn't ideal but Vlad did a great job explaining how Sphinx works and I am now very interested in getting it working myself :)

Thanks to all - this was one of my best user group meetings ever. We actually use Sphinx where I work and your suggestions and pointers will clearly help us. Thanks to Que and CoLoft as well.

I got excited because I expected to see how a large company handles "enterprise" scale using mongodb. Turns out Mongodb was just an appetizer. I drove all the way out from Tustin to Santa Monica. Also I could barely make out what the the main speakers were saying. Mostly due to sound issues. Was a very large room. Turns out they were just using hBase / bigtable and using mongo for a very small component.

It was very interesting to see how the leveraged mongoDB and the stack they used. Too bad they hadn't suffered any real quirks that we could have learned from.

The architectural review for the data pipeline is great. For the MongoDB side, have they run performance/ load tests against it before making the move? If so, it would be great if they can provide some benchmark data.

I've been building a CI system using Selenium and was good to see the options using Sauce would offer me.

good sharing of experience, better to split an informative talk into a series of meetings (2 or 3)

Jim is an energetic and passionate speaker, and I felt thoroughly engaged in the information he presented on Web Security. One of my favorite talks to date. Only wish we could have spent a few more hours diving into it all deeper, but for a FREE talk, I can't complain. Big thanks to Jim, Oleg, and Joe for this event.

Dr. Anita Sengupta—A Space Professional—delivered a fascinating lecture while addressing dozens of questions from an engaged audience of self-admitted Space Nerds, without skipping a beat. My imagination has been filled with visions of amateur rocket science ever since. Inspiring stuff. My thanks to Dr. Sengupta, Oleg Baranovsky, LAphp, LAWebSpeed, LAMySQL, LASemWeb, CyberCoders, CoLoft, and the rest of the organizers for making it happen. "To infinity... and beyond!"
