Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to do a quick follow up for our June 29 LAPHP talk (http://bit.ly/dznEhw). Apologize for the belated follow up, I was out of town for about a week.

First of all thanks a lot to Christophe Louvion for the great talk. There were plenty of good insights there. I personally really liked the idea of the "Neverland" -- I am definitely setting up one here at Financial Finesse :-)

By your numerous requests, we now have the PowerPoint slides available for download from Google Docs here http://bit.ly/cX8NW5 (the presentation was too large to upload to Meetup site). We also have a video recording of the talk at the Ustream.tv site here http://bit.ly/d1UI4f  (the quality of the video is lacking unfortunately -- we'll have to figure out something better for the future talks).

Here is a list of the books that were mentioned during the talk:

Kanban (by David J. Anderson)

Lean Software Development: An Agile Toolkit (by Mary Poppendieck)

Leading Lean Software Development: Results Are not the Point (by Mary Poppendieck)

The Principles of Product Development Flow: Second Generation Lean Product Development (by Donald G. Reinertsen)

As usual please give you love to our sponsors:

CoLoft (http://www.coloft.com/) for hosting our meetings.

"Q" at http://www.coloft.com/ for providing a great food.

And Navicat (http://www.navicat.com/), a developer of the most comprehensive database management and administration tools. Don't forget that as a member of LAPHP group you have a 20% discount on all Navicat products. Click here for your discount coupon valid until 7/31/2010 http://bit.ly/discNf

Please note that we were not able to raffle the free copy of the Navicat Premium software during our last meeting as we originally planned. I apologize for the delay, we will definitely do it at one of our future meetings as will be announced later.

Hope you all enjoyed the LAPHP talk last month and look forward to seeing you in August. I will announce the excat day for the August meeting in a separate email pretty soon.

Sincerely,

Oleg Baranovsky
