http://www.laphp.org/calendar/14638028/

There is a great event coming up in November, organized by the PHP legend Cal Evans: Day Camp 4 Developers.  This is a first of a kind virtual conferences and a great opportunity to participate one without breaking the bank on travel expenses.  All past sessions organized by Cal were exceptional, so we look forward to this one as well...

We are trying to get a group of 10 people to get a group discount tickets here, so if you are interested to attend, contact me via email at: oleg [at] laphp.org

Description:

Most programmers these days can rock their chosen language. There are, however, skills that programmer's need that aren't easy to just pick up. These "soft skills" are as important to your career as the languages in which you program. This day camp teaches developer the soft skills they need in their career. Invest a Saturday in your career. Learn the skills you need from your five camp counselors. We promise no wallets or lanyards.

This one-day, technology agnostic, on-line conference will feature 5 sessions in a single track. You participate in this live conference from the comfort of your own home or office. (or anywhere you have internet connectivity) In addition, you will be able to download all of the sessions after the conference for off-line review.

We know that Day Camp for Developers won't replace you attending a traditional conference. It can't replace the face-to-face interaction you get with your peers. Day Camp for Developers does however, provide you with affordable and targeted training. One day, 7 hours 5 new skills. Come join us, invest a day in your career.

Details:

Date: Saturday, November 6th 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (CTZ -0600)
Price: $35 per person ($30 in groups of 10 or more)
Where: On-Line (gotowebinar.com)

Can't make it?  All sessions will be recorded and available for ticket holders. They will also be for sale after the camp but at a price higher than a ticket. If you know you want to hear these sessions but just don't want to attend, purchasing a ticket is the cheapest way to be able to listen at your leisure.
