Well-funded startup in Santa Monica seeks a senior Magento web programmer to join our small team of seasoned and experienced web application programmers. Ideal candidate would have 10-15 years of experience as a web programmer. Our company is a top-notch, fully funded, early stage startup working in the e-commerce space.

Primary responsibilities include the design and development of Magento modules, themes, integrations and customizations. Candidate will be responsible for acting as the in house Magento lead coordinating with members of the team.

Required Skills
- Experience developing Web-based applications that interface with a database
- Experience with the following Web development languages: HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, Java, SQL and CSS
- Experience building and maintain custom modules.
- Ability to implement Magento themes.
- Ability to integrate Magento with ERP and Accounting Systems.
- Database design
- Experience with the Zend Framework.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with phpUnit or similar
- Problem-solving and teamwork skills. Must be a team player with a strong customer service focus.
- Experience with version control and bug tracking

Required Background
- A degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems or a related field or significant experience in web based application development.
- Authorized to legally work in the US

Desirable Background and Skills
- Experience with or formal education on Scrum/Agile/Lean process and project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with technologies including web services, sessions, web security (e.g., SQL injection, cross site scripting), client server interaction (AJAX), authentication and authorization (LDAP), XML, XSLT, and data modeling
- Experience designing Web-based system architectures
- Experience installing and integrating COTS software products
- Experience in a wide variety of E-commerce applications
